Amti Recipe

Ingredients :
  • Split red gram  150gm
  • Onions   50gm
  • Mustard seeds  2gm
  • Garam masala  2gm
  • Oil   30ml
  • Salt   2litre
  • Water   1.5litre
  • Turmeric  2gm
  • Chilli Powder  2gm
  • Green chillies  4
  • Tamarind  4gm
  • Jaggery(to taste) 2gm
Method :
  • Clean, wash and soak the gram for half an hour and cook till soft.
  • Heat oil and add mustard seeds; when they crackle, add slit green chillies and chopped onion. When the onion is tender add chilli powder, turmeric and garam masala.
  • Add the cooked gram, bring to boil, add tamarind juice, jaggery, and salt.
