MUTHREE (MATTHI) Recipe

MUTHREE (MATTHI)


Ingredients :
  • Suji and Maida 1/3 cup each
  • Curd 3/4 cup
  • Salt 1 1/2 tsps
  • Ghee for frying as required
  • Caraway 1 tsp
  • Black pepper grains 1 tsp
  • Ghee for greasing flour 150 gms
Method :
  • Mix semolina (suji) and maida flour. Add salt, 150 gms. of ghee and caraway. Rub the mix with both hands. Add curd and knead a tough dough. If it is too dry add a little water while kneading
  • Make 10-12 lumps of maida-suji dough. Palm roll. Roll out on chakla palm size cakes (muthrees). Stud muthrees with black pepper grains
  • Heat ghee on low flame. Fry muthrees to crisp golden pink colour
  • Muthrees combine best with tea
